The exhibition "Black Line - White Line" has been opened in the Boyajian Center for the Arts within the framework of the Museum of Armenian Graphics.
The exhibition consists of two sections.
The first section of the exhibition presents the works of the French great master of etching of the XIX-XX centuries Edgar Chahine (1874-1947).
For the first time in Armenia, more than 175 unique works of the artist, selected from the Armenian Museum of Graphics' own collection, are on display.
Not only engravings, unique books and illustrations by the famous artist are shown, but also a number of original paintings - the famous portrait of Louise France is presented.
This collection of Edgar Chahine, consisting of more than 400 works belonging to the Museum of Armenian Graphics, today can rightfully be considered the largest collection of the artist's works in the world.
At the same time, a number of works by another etching master, Tigran Polat (1874-1950), a student of Chahine, are on display.
In another section of the exhibition, graphic works by another great Armenian artist Felix Yeghiazaryan are presented.
Remaining true to its mission, giving way to young Armenian artists next to the great ones, the Boyajian Art Center also presents several works in the unique style of the young gifted artist Arman Ambartsumian.
We invite adherents of culture to visit this unique exhibition.
As a main exposition based on the Vardges Boyajyan family collection, the first and so far the world’s only Armenian Graphic Art Museum was created within the framework of the BCFA.
The collection includes works of art of Edgar Chahine, Jean Carzou, Jean Jansem, and unique graphic works and works of art of other major Armenian artists of the 20th century.
